Woolery & Co is a strategic law firm established in 2020 by industry veteran, James (Jim) Woolery. Formerly a Senior Partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, co-Head of M&A at JP Morgan Chase, and co-Founder of hedge fund, Hudson Executive Capital, Jim Woolery is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading M&A experts and has advised on transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $1.5 Trillion. Woolery & Co’s attorneys have deep, multi-disciplinary experience as both lawyers and bankers at top institutions.

Each member of our associate team is a JD/MBA and many have prior investment banking experience. As a result, Woolery & Co is able to provide value across the advisor stack and our strategic advice is based on a comprehensive understanding of the deal.

  • As an independent boutique, Woolery & Co is not encumbered by the many conflicts that preclude large law firms and sell-side advisors from participating in unique situations that require top-tier advisors and bespoke treatment.

  • Woolery & Co intentionally limits which clients we represent and which matters we advise on, such that each project receives dedicated senior partner level focus. This helps lower costs for our clients as we do not use boilerplate as a starting point, there is no large deal team to pass through and no junior associate training costs.
